hello. I have severe OA in my left hip. I’m 45.. These threads really help but what’s I’m seeing is loads of posts with other people really suffering with Arthritis everywhere. I’ve never realised how bad this disease is. Is there anything people can do to ward it off? Is there a common type of person who gets Arthritis? Just really curious as my hip hurts so much I’d hate to get it anywhere else. Thanks x

    Morning @Cosmic_Babe

There doesn't seem to be a type of person who gets arthritis really it seems it can happen to anyone. Nothing concrete yet, but lots of research is being done.

You yourself can do plenty to help yourself. Keeping active and mobile. Eating a healthy diet for example.

Have you had time to read any of the main Versus Arthritis information?

    Best wishes Ellen.

My theories are definitely diet (my vegan 30 a week fruits veggies nuts etc), exercise, not gaining weight. I include other possible links I've read too like seeing the dentist regularly. That last one seems possibly linked to a few long term conditions so I upped my oral hygiene a while back although I was always pretty good.

I think all you can do really is your best @Cosmic_Babe

    Take care
