Feeling Really Rubbish Today!
Urh! I had a really bad flare-up on Thursday night/Friday😫 I actually can't remember the last time I had one as bad as this. My rheumatoid arthritis is usually managed sooo well with Methotrexate and Sulfasalazine and I lead a very crazily busy, active life. But this flare-up has left me absolutely exhausted 😞 Goodness only knows how I got through Friday at work. My mood is really low too and I keep bursting into tears - which is really unlike me.
I suspect the cause of the flare-up was over doing it at my Body Pump Class on Wednesday evening and not taking my tablets properly.
Just reaching out to fellow sufferers in the hope the understanding will cheer me up a bit!
Thanks for listening to my moaning!
Lis 😊

Hey there
You are certainly not alone. I had a flare up the other week - it really knocks you for six doesn’t it. We need a pause button for life so we can deal with the flare up I think.
People often talk about working for themselves to be their own boss and/or increase wealth, I often think that I could just decide when I would work - in rhythm with flare ups! Not sure if that will ever be a reality !I hope you feel normal again soon.

Thanks for replying 😊 A pause button would indeed be a fabulous idea!
I'm going to ensure I take my medication properly and be more careful at the gym and hopefully I won't have another flare up as bad as this one! 🙂

Thanks for the warm welcome @noddingtonpete😊 It's certainly good to chat with fellow sufferers. I've rested up today, so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Usually my flare-ups only last a day, but this has dragged on a bit🥴 Tomorrow is a new day!🙏😊

It would be interesting to know what impact exercise has on your RA (if that’s what you medicate for).
I read a lot about the benefits of exercise for people with RA l, but I always have this impression the advice is written by someone who hasn’t got RA, who has simply looked at some spurious research.
I guess I’m scared of the effects of exercise. I’m in a good place with a good weight managed by diet, so the concept of my health deteriorating because of exercise is scary. I can feel incredibly stiff after doing something physical.
Your experience would be interesting.0 -
Afternoon @Arciere
I find exercise helps me all in moderation mind 😅
I joined pain management courses which I found helpful but realised natural walking is best for me.
I walk in a slow walking group and now when its time for me to stop but do feel better afterwards.
Courses attached maybe of interest to try you gain information and advice with people in same or similar position ???
Best wishes @Naomi33
