4 months of exercises after being told i have oa in knees. All that's happened during that time is that calves, hamstrings, quads and ankles are now really painfull too and my knees are no better.

Have another physio appointment next week.

Should I be expecting this process to continue or should I ask for 2nd opinion, xrays etc.

    Hi @Block94

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. Who has diagnosed/told you that you have OA in your knees?

    Thanks Claudia.

The physio at the GP surgery. He gave me some exercises and referred me to physio at hospital. And they gave me some more exercises.

Was originally diagnosed with early onset about 15 years ago

Ask for X-rays and/or mri. You need to know what state your knees are in, what the level of problem is. Treatment needs to be based on evidence, not conjecture.

I should have pushed much earlier for X-rays.

Thanks Bryony. I'll try and be assertive. What I don't fully understand is why calf and thigh muscles are so painful. Is it my knees, or the exercises?

    Hi @Block94

It could be muscle pain from the exercises but also sometimes I find when my knee is sore I walk a different way to try and take the weight off my knee and then my calves can get sore. I definitely recommend getting X-rays and maybe an MRI, a referral to rheumatology wouldn't do any harm either.

    Take care, Claudia :)
