Shoulder pain
Hi I'm new here and recently diagnosed with Arthritis in my shoulder. I can not sleep on that shoulder and I am finding it difficult to move it in certain places. I do have a bone density scan appointment in Feb. Anyone have the same and could help on pain management please.

hi, I feel your pain literally and am awaiting shoulder replacement surgery. I use local anaesthetic plasters on my shoulder every night prescribed from my gp. They are quite affective. I’ve found capsaicin cream is also quite good although it’s hard to get sometimes as there’s a general shortage at the manufacturers. You can have a steroid injection too but it never worked for me but a lot of people found it does help

Another shoulder person here too just wanting to show my support.
Have tried injection after physio it lasted less than a week😕 Think I might have to brave an MRI or an ultrasound. Find out what's really going on.
Those lidocaine patches sound worth a try though…. @Endie if they give them to you will you let us know please? Thanks

@Wendy8482 don't worry yet! Dr Google is so annoying it can scare the life out of you.
It can mean a rotator cuff tear (which physio originally said I had) a cyst all sorts. Is your Dr proposing furter tests such as an MRI to check for sure what it is in your case?
Take care

Hello @Wendy8482 and welcome to the Online Community forum. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well.
As @frogmorton says is your GP pursuing this to find out what is happening? If not I would go back and ask for more tests or a consultancy appointment. Also have a look through the following from our website which I hope will be of interest.
