Pain and depression.
Hi all , over the 15 years I've suffered with o/a in my knees and the knock on effect is now it's in my hips .
Years of codeine but now on tramadol which helps with the pain but I feel it comes at a cost , mood swings and always feeling aways tired and depressed , can anyone relate to this ?
The only enjoyment I get and to help my mind is when I wash my car , sounds silly I know but it's a form of exercise and I can controller my pain .
Not sure if going the gym could help but ive zero motivation 😕

I have had OA in knees for over 30 years (I'm 57 now) and I found the addition of Nortriptyline helped. It's great for pain and also helps with mental health.
It's hard but acceptance of the pain and limited mobility helps. But it's a journey.

Here codeine used 3 times per day over several days when in constant high pain days after days triggers extreme suicidal mind logic. Own brain hates codeine while extreme body pain respond well/eg: override pain. It helps to recognise that mind is affected by medicine opposed to thinking that it comes from own personal mind itself.
& yes, recognise what gives enjoyment & enjoy to replenish & keep going...
Extend to: wash others' cars so to never run out of cars ;)
