HI everyone I hope you are all staying as well as you can be

I have been diagnosed with a rheumatoid lung after a routine lung CT scan showed changes on my right lung

Thickening of the pleural lining and some

Slight fluid ( which is now gone)

I am here to ask if anyone here as had this diagnosis as I don't really know what to expect and would like to hear from someone who as experience of this

Thanks in advance .

    Hi @emmasweet

I'm sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with this. I have actually never heard of it before, but I hope it's nothing too serious. Unfortunately I can't give much advice but I'm sure there are other members who might be able to help.

    All the best, Claudia x

    HI Claudia thanks for replying

Its something what develops in the lung due to inflammation from RA

I thought it was rib pain but unfortunately it's my lung inflamed from RA and a bit if fluid there

Had my dates for my rituxumab earlier today and hoping this helps me

had a steroid injection 2 weeks ago and didn't really help much but everything crossed for some relief soon

I knew there was a chance of RA affecting internal organs ( read about it ages ago) but didn't take much notice as was more bothered about my joints and trying to stay well.

Maybe will get more info soon

    Emma

    Xx

pulmonary Fibrosis (lung scarring) , biggest problem so far was infection picked up in hospital, left me with 35% capacity, fortunately steroids helped and I’m back to where I am after 30+ years of RA. Stay well away from all types of infection, cinema, trains, buses, aircraft are the worse etc etc. But (there’s always one😂) I have done an awful lot of exercise over the years despite the pain and it has stood me in good stead. I still go windsurfing, learning wingfoiling, cycling, gardening (yuk) etc and do feel better for it. Yes it is a ongoing problem but at the moment I’m happy to do something on my good days if only for shorter periods.
