Hello

Finally I have had my pre op assessment for a knee replacement 3 weeks ago . At the assessment after being asked about varioue issues I mentioned that I had a minor but stubborn fungal nail issue which I have had for a number of years and despite various treatments it just won't completely go away. The Pre op Nurse told me not to worry and not to offer the information if I got asked again. Now the op date is due for next week and I wonder if any of you have had a fiungl toe issue this and if so has it affected your surgery. I have been waiting on the NHS since 2020 to have this op and I am concerned whether it will go ahead on the day now. i have googled and searched NICE guidelines but the info is sketchy.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @Venuskye if the pre-op nurse wasn't worried and said don't mention it again then I would take that as a medical opinion and do as they said. The op is very important. Good luck with the op, hope it goes well.
