    Hello biffobear55

I applied for Attendance Allowance last year, more in hope than expectation, but got it, hopefully you can too. I suggest you ring up for a claim form (you will find the details on the gov.uk website), they will date the form for that day and will backdate your successful claim to that day. Age UK provide valuable information on how to complete the form. I warn you, it is not for the faint-hearted - it's very long! Take your time to complete it, I did mine over several days. I took a photocopy of the blank form and filled that in, in rough, before getting it just right. I then copied it onto the official form and sent it off. I think it took about 3 weeks to get an answer. Good luck!

My tips @biffobear55 include photocopying it and practising on that form first. Then write it up legibly finally photocopy finished form before it goes. Citizen's advice will help but make your appt asap they are super busy.

Do not play anything down either.

    Fingers crossed for you
