New Diagnosis - Hi

Just been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. Start methotrexate tonight. I had a steroid injection which has eased the months of agonising pain. Worried about the new medication and feeling pretty isolated. Wondering how anyone with the same condition is getting on.

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis and your worries. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis about 9 months ago and take methotrexate. I don't have any problems with it though everyone is different. I know how scarey it is getting a new diagnosis but you're in the right place. Our community members have vast experience and I'm sure you will get some very helpful responses. In the meantime you can search through all our posts. Just click on the magnifying glass at top right hand side of the screen. I searched on psoriatic and found lots of posts!

think I’m about 20 months following PsA diagnosis and I’ll just say everything will be ok. You might have a journey to undertake, but post your questions and progress here and you’ll feel supported.

Hello @diji, I'm just starting my journey also. I'm having blood work and a liver scan soon, then a chat with the rheumatology nurse in April before starting my treatment. Like you, I'm worried about starting the medicine (I'm sensitive to everything) and feeling isolated also.
