What supplements do members take to help relieve osteoarthritis and or Neuropathy?

I have been taking tumeric capsules and rose hip tablets. They don't seem to be having much effect though.

I used to regularly take Glucosamine Chrondroitin tablets but stopped after being advised saying they wouldn't help me. What are the pros and cons?

What supplements do other people taken, and do they help?

TIA

    Hi

I have RA not Osteo but I thought I’d just say that I tried a ton of supplements before finding more success from excluding food groups that have links to inflammation. I got the info from an anti inflammatory recipe book.

    Hope this helps

I've tried most things and nothing seems to help with o/a . As my knees are bad I have brought 2 x knee massargers with heat settings which gives some relief.

Turmeric doesn't work at all but you could try curcumin tablets instead , this might help you .

  • I have taken multiple supplements over a period of years - turmeric (with black pepper extract), rose hip, glucosamine & chondroitin, flaxseed as well calcium +D3 + K2. I have also tried Devil's Claw but I think I read something negative about it so stopped. I have spent a fortune on supplements. I was diagnosed with moderately severe osteoarthritis of the right hip over 14 years ago and managed to avoid a hip replacement until the end of last November and was able to work (now semi retired and only work from home), travel and go about my daily life. I don't know whether all the supplements helped or not as I don't know what would have happened without them but maybe it was a combination of supplements, exercise and luck that enabled me to avoid hip replacement for so long and kept me free of pain - I have had more pain since the operation so I am not at all convinced I should have had it done but too late now. I am still taking some supplements.
