How to know when in remission? (RA)

Hi everyone,

hope you are all managing the best you can. I was diagnosed with RA in 2022 aged 21. There’s a backlog with the NHS rheumatology day clinics at the minute and I haven’t been seen in a while. I’ve been paying privately when I need someone.

My recent blood results are the best they have been with ESR of 2 and CRP of 1. I’m aware bloods aren’t the whole picture. Does anyone know how I’d know whether this is remission or not? Any pain I have is from previous damage done.

Thanks!

@Laura25 I wish we knew, but its all relative.

Do you actually feel gradually stronger or not. Does that inner mood meter say you've got this.

In your shoes I'd keep steady until my next planned apt with rheumatology and keep notes about exactly how you are doing day to day. They may consider reduction of meds for you then if things are still lovely and stable.

Please do let us know how you get on
