Hello, I was diagnosed with PR last year with mainly flares in my hands, wrists and shoulders. I am on Hydroxychloroquine.

Normally my flares are around 12-24 hours however I have a new flare in and around my knee. It feels like a lead weight / brick is inside my knee and it came on Friday night went away and came back with a vengeance last night (Sunday) up to my hip also.

I feel like I’m going mad and I’m so tired with this flare.

Does anyone recognise this knee pain / heaviness themselves?

Any advice welcomed on how to manage this one would be gratefully received

Thank You

Hello @jojomojo and welcome to the Community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well.

I'm sorry to hear of your knee pain. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have knee pain at the moment. I haven't been able to get a clear diagnosis of the cause but I do find that exercising the areas around the knee seems to help.

Sorry I don't have any specific advice but our website is a mine of information so do look at it. You might be particularly interested in (although I do recognise that this may be stuff you already know!):
