Fluid retention with Metotrexate

Has anyone experienced issues with fluid retention whilst taking Methotrexate?
I am taking two 7.5mg doses, once a week & after the second dose I have had sudden fluid retention in both thighs.
I have seen my GP, who asked me to contact my Rheumatologist, which I have done, but she thinks it is not the Methotrexate causing it as in 25 years she has never seen this problem in another patient.

    Hi @Anniewheels

    I take 25mg of methotrexate once a week and I haven't had any problems with fluid retention. I have tried to find any reference to fluid retention on our website but not found anything. You may want to search also. Hopefully some of our members will be respond at some point soon.

    I suggest you go back to your GP - if methotrexate has been excluded as the cause you need to get to the bottom of what is.
