Hello everyone, I have had osteoarthritis since my 30's in my back but now in my hands, knees, neck and feet. I have recently been diagnosed as also having psoriatic arthritis. Finding it hard to deal with all the pain the flare ups give me. I have started methotrexate on 13th January, hoping this will help. Was told for years it was just wear and tear but I struggle with my back and feet the most, don't feel people understand unless they also have these conditions

Morning @pearcy and welcome to the online community.

Sorry to hear your concerns about OA and all the pain.

You are right unless going through pain people do not understand!!!

But you are in the right place here as we all understand.

I am sure others will connect with you soon.

    Best wishes @Naomi33

    Hi @pearcy

I was diagnosed with PsA in 2020 at the age of 65. I come from a large family of psoriasis sufferers and had had visible PsO from the age of 15. I'm the only one diagnosed with PsA. I initially suffered from a swollen knee which I put down to having had a football injury and meniscus removal some 30 years previously but then it affected my hands and I was diagnosed with PsA. Apparently PsA can affect you sacroiliac joints - where your spine links to your pelvis. I found that out when they did an MRI scan of my lower back and I asked why. Damage done to you SI joints can be an indicator of PsA apparently.
