Hello! Ideas on Pain relief
Hi All, I have recently found that MRI and X-rays show I have very little cartilage under my right knee cap. It’s become very painful and now been given Naproxen to help, x2 500mg not really helping. I do martial arts and should be competing in a national competition in September 2025, I fear that problems will get worse and can’t compete and think maybe I should give up now? But I really don’t want to be defeated! Does anyone has suggestions for pain relief? Does physio help with this type of pain? I’m 50 years young, also on HRT patches which has dramatically helped with my all over body stiffness.

Hi @Tamara1975 welcome to the online community. Bad timing your knee issues coming to light so close to a national competition in your sport.
Exercise is still recommended and you may be able to self refer at your GP's surgery. If not then they can refer you.
