it’s happened very quickly. I had my pre op assessment last week, and was told probably a 2 -4 month wait, but then a phone call to say that I will be done next Thursday, so only 2 weeks after my pre op.

I’m feeling very anxious about the whole thing☹️ plus am full of a cold so stuck in bed.

I’ve been doing all the walking that I can, and swimming so hopefully I’ve done enough to be in good shape. I will do my pre-op exercises as much as I can.

Wish me luck🙏

    Good luck @Mommabear,

We hope your cold goes soon and you can then gather your thoughts and prepare yourself for your operation.

    Best wishes

    Congratulations @Mommabear !

You will get a new lease of life - although it may not appear like it to begin with :)

Please remember that recovery from any surgery is a marathon and not a sprint race and it's important to do as you're told and listen to your body. Also remember that your post op painkillers are just as important as they were pre-op , they usually work best when taken at regular intervals and about 20 minutes before any physio session.

Please shout if you need any help or advice

    Trish xx

@Mommabear Wow, that's quick - wishing you all the very best. Hoping you will let us know how you go on, and as others have said we're here for you. As Trish says remember it's a marathon and not a sprint, but it's a great feeling to be over the worst and starting to make progress towards your new life!

Thank you for the kind comments. I’m going in tomorrow, and the nerves are kicking in, but I’m looking forward to having improved mobility afterwards.

    Wish me luck xx
