Recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis
I have been on sulfalazine for 3 weeks now. I’ve had some mild side effect including Itchy feet/ankles, chills and have been a bit queezy but nothing too bad. 2 days ago I got a sunburned (forgot about this as a possible side effect as the weather was so bad when I started taking it). I now have a rash on the parts of my arms and legs that were exposed to the sun and I have chills and feeling queezy, but no temperature. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve left a message on the advise line I was given. Just after some reassurance really. Thanks in advance!

Hello @GillA welcome to the community,
It sounds as though your mild reaction to the drug has been aggravated by exposure to the sun, causing increased itching etc. We are not medically qualified to advise you and suggest that a chat with your local Pharmacist will give you some over the counter relief while you wait for a call back from the advice line. There will be a number of creams and /or lotions to help with itch relief.
We do hope you feel better soon, do let us know how you get on and join us again soon for a browse round the forum. There are some interesting discussions and activities to follow.
Best wishes
Poppyjane

Are you ok @GillA ? Did the rash settle down? I hope you got a timely call back from your rheumatology helpline, but suspect not. Ours is rubbish here.
I usually go to see my pharmacist for non-urgent stuff and have even used 111 for scarier issues.
