Osteoarthritis in knee

Can anyone tell me the best pain relief for osteoarthritis in knees. Been on Butec patches, but no good, now on Tramadol but not getting much relief especially at night. Any suggestions please

hi, @eve66 , welcome to the online community!! It is great to have you here, however I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing such severe pain. Hopefully someone else who has better recommendations will come along and make some comments! I’m assuming you’ve mentioned this to your doctor(s) as they would probably be the best people to advise you, due to what works for one person may not work for another. Hi @eve66 nice to meet you I hope you'll find the forum helpful like I have over the years.

Sorry to hear you are struggling so much with pain. Tramadol is a really strong medication I suspect your Dr will be reluctuant to prescribe anything else. Are you on any anti-inflammatories though? Like ibuprofen/naproxen (the latter being prescription only) they can really help. If they do some are available as slow-release so if they help might give you some respite while you sleep.

As annabanana said what works for one might not work for another so can be trial and error.

I just said to someone else that my sister has just started this course for her hip and hands which she's really struggling with

If there is a nuffield gym near you. The course is free and they give you 6 months membership at the gym too.
