Hip replacement
Hi I had a hip replacement 6 weeks ago and had been doing well. Last week I helped my son with his new baby and over did it. 4 days after and the pain is unbearable. It's more above my hip in my side and I have a terrible stitch like pain. My actual hip feels fine it's just the stitch like my pain in my side. Do I need to worry? I'm seeing my surgeon in 3 days but today the pain made me cry. Has anyone else experienced this type of pain? I'm 54 and don't know anyone else that has had a hip replacement. My other hip needs doing too 🙄

There are a lot of us here who have had sparkly new hips. At six weeks you've probably just overdone things in the excitement of your new grandchild.
I tell everyone to remember that recovery from any surgery, let alone hip surgery is a marathon, not a sprint. I still get niggles if I've done too much and had my surgery last May.
Slow down, rest. Have some paracetamol if you need it and speak to your surgeon when you see him. However kerp up with your physio but don't over do it..

Hello @Kimwatkins28 and welcome to the Online Community forum. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well.
I agree with what @Trish9556 says, take some time to rest and if you still are having problems then seek professional help.
In the meantime keep posting and let us know how you are getting on.
Best wishes
Peter
