Hello
Hello,
My name is Michael and I've just signed up here and reading all the discussions with all your stories makes me feel better.
I believe I have osteoarthritis in both my knees and one hip, I'm only 45 years old and the doctors don't really take me too seriously and it's been 2 years since it's started. I'm fit, very strong in the legs , I do lots of specific exercises that means I was able to go up and downstairs again. I've got a bit more worried of late as it has taken a other bad turn and I was seeking advice from places.
I suppose I'm just introducing myself and I'm happy to be here. 😊 And hello to you all!

Hi @ChiefBrody8
Welcome to the online community, really pleased you've joined and posted.
Having Osteoarthritis and keeping yourself fit and healthy is one of the best things you can do. It sounds like you are working hard to keep battling the condition.
Have you seen the great info on the website:-
Osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip | Hip pain | Versus Arthritis
Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee | Knee pain | Versus Arthritis
I hope you don't mind I have moved your post from the Coffee Lounge to Living with Arthritis as there is more likely people will respond due to the topic.
Please keep posting as there are lots of people with OA on here

Welcome. Nice to meet you.
Poor you. I ended up going private because the GP kept sending me to physio. The physio said "Not you again, you're doing all and more than required." (Keep Fit. Tai Chi plus the physio exercises at home). So I booked an appointment privately. Now got a definative diagnoses and medication revised. And the private specialist has me on her NHS list too now. So worth it. I know know that I have Fibomyiligia, oesteo and bad oesteoporosis, rather than just "creaky joints."
I started with viral arthritis when I was 39. I've had one form or other for many years and been on Methotrexate.
So keep badgering your GP or go private.
Now I know how to go about things, what exercises to do and how to pace myself. Wish I had gone sooner to see a private specialist.
You sound as if you are very aware of your body and that is important.
Good luck.
Moira
