I have recently been diagnosed with RA and still getting to grips with the medication and frequent blood tests . Does anyone know what a Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide test result of 1.0 means. Is that positive or negative ? I’ll phone rheumatology nurses but they take a few days to respond .
Thank you .

    Hi @Poppy59

I'm not sure where you could get a good answer from someone qualified other than the rheumy team! Hope they get back to you soon.

@Poppy59 In my view it means if you have a smart young rheumy not too set in their ways, you might have a prospect of escaping full blown RA as it’s still very early, for comparison, here’s my result, and despite the high positive, I DID escape for 2 years, no drugs or symptoms, but aware it was a sleeping monster in the background because of the ACCP antibodies.

I also had it tested privately as mine was off the NHS charts, and it was 500.

So the best you can do is find a rheumy who is really willing to get you off the RA bandwagon as you are currently officially seronegative for RA according to your ACCP test result, which is specific to RA. Hope that gives you some hope.
