Hip replacement at age 24
Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I’m 27 next week and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my early 20s. I’ve never met another young person with my condition and I would really like to meet others like me, as it just feels very lonely. I had a hip replacement aged 24 and have been advised I need the other side doing now too. As well as regular hydrotherapy, land physiotherapy, steroid injections and oral medications. I’ve had to give up my career as a registered nurse in the NHS and I feel a lot of resentment towards my condition - especially as all of my peers are young and mobile. I would love to have a discussion about your own experiences living with arthritis at such a young age and hopefully we can support each other a little through the ride. Em x
