Adjustments
Hi all first thank you for letting me join, I have just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my hips, bilateral sacroiliac and severe osteitis pubis. I have a meeting on Thursday to go through a risk assessment. I had one in place as I was suffering with bladder issues these have eased, the doctor said it could be from the nerves being pinched through swelling. I am stressing out as my boss can be funny not haha funny. I am a early years educator work in a nursery so sitting standing changing nappies I just need to know in my head what I want from risk assessment any advice s at moment yes I'm in pain but I always push through and I know my boss will make me flustered.

Hello @jojo13 and welcome to the Community. We are a friendly and supportive group and I hope that will be your experience as well.

Also, our community members will have vast experience so keep checking back here for their responses. You can also search for the word work in the community chats -there will be lots of conversations about how to deal with work issues.
My own advice would be prepare for the meeting. Write a list of the issues that you have health wise; how they affect your ability to carry out your duties and what adjustments can be made to help you. Your employers have a duty to support you and you need to be able to explain what you need. If it is possible, could you bring someone else to the meeting just to help you feel supported and make notes?
Hope your meeting goes ok and please keep posting now you are here and let us know how you are getting on.
Best wishes
Mary
