Heat Lamps?
Hya all, just wondered if anyone has tried the infrared heat lamps for their osteo or rheumatoid arthritis conditions?
I'm seriously considering purchasing one, for a bit of pain relief in the evening, for the osteo in my ankle.
Wondering what anyone else thinks, whether its a good idea, or not!

Hi
I haven't used a heat lamp in many years. For my hands I use little packs of magic called Hot Hands, or similar from online selling sites, wheat bags for shoulders and feet alternating with frozen peas wrapped in a tea towel - heat and cold therapy does help increase the blood flow and with pain. I also have a footspa with massage option which is nice with warm water.
I also swear by my tens machine. My old one gave up the ghost after 10 years and I've now moved to a bluetooth wireless one. I tried a cheap and cheerful one earlier this year and the pads that went on teh sticky pads constantly fell off. It's worth spending a bit more and getting a branded one off the online selling sites that you can send back if you don't get on with it.
Mine has options and various settings for tens, EMS and massage.

Yep, got a footspa I can dig out, and a bag of the frozen peas would be good too. It's pretty much trying what works at first, hence the heat lamp idea, I can use one whilst I'm ''silver surfing'' of an evening!!
You've lost me at tens machine, and EMS I'm afraid, so I'll google them and Hot Hands/wheat bags…..should be enough to be cracking on with for now I think!
Thank you so much for 'pointing me in the right direction', you have helped me enormously!
Mikky.
