Pain clinic tips needed.

Hi I have at last managed to get a private referral to a pain clinic, I gave up asking my GP and went over his head and used my companies private health scheme, now can anyone on here tell me what to expect when I finally go for a visit?. Any tips would be useful and gratefully accepted!

Hi mellman

First visit to pain clinic was just questions for me. The Dr. asked me lots about how the pain affected my everyday life and sleep patterns. I think he just had to tick boxes as he filled forms in. When I went for actual injections the room was like a small operating theatre, very clean. He used an x ray to check where the injections needed to go and that was it. The pain clinic Dr. can also give advise on which meds may help you more and ask your GP to refer you to a specialist if they think it helps.
