Hello :)
Another new pain to add to list! My feet are killing me. I've had the usual pains that I think others get i.e. I feel sometimes that I'm not wearing shoes at all as I feel every stone under my feet!
I got out my car the other day and turned to shut the door and I got an excrutiating pain in my right foot, through the bones on my arch-felt like I'd broken a bone :? Now when I'm walking I have sharp pains in my heels and on the inside of sole-all this worse on my right foot although I do get it in my left too. Don't know if this is something new or referred pain from one of my many other affected joints! Any ideas?

Hi Magenta,I know how you feel, I get lots of pain in my feet, mostly on the tops, like a burning pain, its not there all the time, but suddenly as I'm walking, there it is and its really painfull.I had my feet and ankles xrayed last week when I saw my rhumey, wont find out the results until i see the meterology nurse on the 22nd,I'll ask then.

    Hi ya,

Have had the foot pain/swelling for 2 mos in the ankle and on top of the foot plus arch. Get up to 20 mgs of prednisone and everything is fine. Gradually get down to 10 and try to get to 5mgs and it comes back. Need to get a steroid injection now, but my rheumy doesn't like to be told what to do so, I am going to make an appointment which will not be soon enough, sooth his ego and hope he comes up with the idea on his own. Wish there was an easier way to get these type of injections when you need them.I know there is nothing elso wrong because I have had this same thing off and on for decades.

    Good luck. jimmy77

Before I had this massive flair up, my feet have caused me more trouble over the years than any other part of my body.
I wear shoes with sturdy soles all the time. I cannot walk on my bare feet.
Hope you get relief soon. Linda

PS Jimmy, what time is it out your way? Just wondering, how expensive is it for treatment? Do you have insurance? Sorry, just nosey  I know we have to pay for prescriptions here, but do you have to pay for all your steroid injections and stuff?

ask your rheumy about plantar fasciitis, I've got it along with fibro and RA and it makes my heel and arch burn and makes me feel like i'm walking on my bare bones. My rheumatology nurse saw my foot and said in passing that it was plantar fasciitis but didn't give me any advice or support, so I would reccommend not leaving the docs til you've got an answer!

    Hi
The pain which feels like little stones are you First toes joint which has colapsed and you are now walking on them it is very comon in Arthritis , mine happened in my left foot after toes surgery didnt have it before so was'nt happy found it very painful to walk but at the hospital were I'm treated for Arthritis I have orthotics made for my shoes and what they do is on the base of the insole were the bone (stone feeling) is cut a hole so it sits in the hole and it relives the pain , and makes it better for walking .

so talk to your doctor at hospital and ask to see if you can get some orthotics made best thing every for my feet .

    Marie

    hope it helps .
