I have had a brevis tendon repaired in my thumb came out of plaster Monday. My surgeon dosen't want me to have phyiso yet(says they are to rough!) Thumb really stiff has anyone had a similar thing done? Tendon went because of plate put in my hand to fuse the wrist two years ago due to RA :?:

I had ligament repair of my right thumb a couple of years ago and was in plaster for 3 weeks. After the plaster it was in a splint for quite a few weeks. It was so so stiff I couldn't move it at all. I did physio exercises - really simple ones at first. I'm sure your docs don't want you to do too much and make your tendon go 'spang!'
    Hope this helps.

I had a tendon transfer into my thumb twenty years ago now and when the plaster came off my top thumb joint wouldn't move and I'm sorry to say it's never moved since  My RA is very aggressive though and I was never offered physio - but I suggest you do a few little movements, if you're able, just to get it going.

They actually transferred the tendon from my first finger - I was told we have a spare tendon in our fingers - a bit like having a spare tyre in a car, I suppose
