This might seem like a silly question but I have just come home after making my yearly visit to the hospital to see the Crohns Specialist. I told him about my OA in my wrist and that it is due to be particially fused in March. He seemed surprised that I was having it done my a Plastics Surgeon rather than a bone doctor.

I would like to ask what type of doctor other people have had to do their fusing? I am not sure now if I should wait until I get my Rhyemy appointment which will be in the next 13 weeks, or just go ahead anyway? What does everyone else think please??
thank you

When I had my thumb repaired a couple of years ago I saw a plastic surgeon. The rheumy is good at the diseases but the plastic's guys are good at fixing hands!! They made a very good job too! Having my other one done after my wedding and honeymoon!
    Hope this helps.

Plastic surgeons are usually "plastic and hand consultants" so it would be quite plausible to get a plastic surgeon do your surgery.
