Ok basically this is what I have done...........stupid I know. On Sunday evening I took my tablets on an empty stomach (Tramadol x 2 and Naproxen) I know I shouldnt have done this, spent all of Sunday night in agony with my insides feeling on fire. Since then I have had a slightly 'strange' feeling kind of just below my breastbone, like in under my ribs. It feels like its burning, almost like when you are really hungry and your stomach is going to rumble and it hurts.

Im really worried that I have done some damage by taking my tablets on a completely empty stomach.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

It sounds as if you've upset your digestion :( The best thing to do is see/talk to your GP ASAP, just to be on the safe side. Don't worry, I'm sure you're fine  Sue

    Hi,

I would hope it's fine but if you do it over a long period w/o food or milk etc. of time it could definitely become a problem. All those nsaid's like naproxen can be tough on the stomach.

    Hi,

This happened to my wife hazel I was worried and so was she , we straight away phoned the doctor for advice. she told hazel it was stupid but its ok ,the only tablets hazel took that day was her epilepsy tablets until the next day when she took her other tablets for her Fibromayglia, hrt tablets , etc etc etc.

Phone your doctor for advice, put your mind at rest.

I wouldn't have thought than just doing it once would have caused any immediate effects unless you have a particularly sensitive stomach. As you're worrying that could be causing an increase of acid in your stomach giving you the burning/hungry sensation.

Ring your GP to be on the safe side, as the others have said - this will help to stop you worrying :D

Have lots of probiotic natural youghurt - that will really soothe your stomach and hopefully heal any damage you have done.

just wanted to add that i sometimes get similiar symtoms after taking naproxen, even though i eat before hand, my dr prescribed a stomache protector which i take along with naproxen, it is in a wallet type pack, i take 1 stomache protector and a naproxen together, i think it's called naprotec, but i'll check later to be sure.
anyway, it's worth drinking a cup of mint tea to relieve the burning sore sensation, heartburn /indesgestion remedies aren't always recomended with our meds but i found mint tea works much better and the effects last longer to, i hope this might help.

Hi Sue, tell me does the mint tea help with that sick feeling you get, i feel real crap after MXT like i want to be sick some times it lasts for days. Do you think it will help with that.
