Hi had 1st appointment today, saw OT, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist and R. Nurse. Luckily for me the dietitian was not there, emotionally I could not face a diet just now.

Well OT is same one I saw before so just updated things.

Physio advised that I should not over exercise until after my surgery then she will work with me from 1 week post op, advising it will take a long time to get 'as well as you can'.

Podiatrist was astonished at the 'over flexion' in my feet and ankle joints advising that I should wear ankle supports and when replacing my footwear should consider boots to give support.
He and the R.Nurse explained that my joints were over supple due to my arthritis which is not a good thing as it leads to injury.

I know I should be angry as the Rheumatologist I saw several years ago said nothing much was wrong with me as I had good joint movement. BUT I feel so relieved that I will at last be seen by people who recognise my problems and will help rather than hinder me. I have had all these years of being told I was fine and we all get aches and pains as we age. ....I was only 35 when they firsts started saying that...I am 52 and still wanna live my life.

Sorry this post was so long. Linda
