Hi, I am on MXT injections and do have terrible night sweats, at first the gp blamed it on early menopause, I am 50, but I am convinced that the MXT is to blame, I have spoken to my Rheumy about it but she says it is not a side effect. Interestingly enough I too Sulpha prior to the MXT and and had the same problem, could it be down to the RA and not the meds? love Jaspercatxx0

Hi
I have also been through terrible night sweats and was told it was poorly controlled RA, rather than the drugs. Mine seemed to improve as the RA was got under better control and so maybe that was true??

hi i can feel for you with the night sweats but only in respect of the menopause , as dont take same meds but its a nasty feeling and quite draining as you dont get your full sleep , so take care keep your fluid intake up could get a little dehidrated ,, xxI know i am a lady ,all life is a journey xx MAY xx0

Hi Shaggy Its a difficult one to answer I have suffered these night swets for some years now and could never get to the bottom of it.
I'm talking the type of swets where all the bedding needs to be changed, the first time i thought i had wet the bed it was so bad. It got that way i knew when it was going to happen. havent had one for about 5 months now but my Rheumy said not a side effect of the MXT. I tend to think it is part of thr RA or PA i know everyone doesent get it but we are all different. Problem is you expect someone to have the answer and when they dont its a bit of a shock. Take care

Hi thanks for all the replies, I spoke to rheumy nurse today and she said it was probably due to poorly controlled RA, and I'm seeing her next week.
Thanks x0 -
Hi Shaggy and welcome to the forum,
A lot of folk on here get night sweats and from what I understand it's part of having arthritis - I think in the past it could have been classed as rheumatic fever, when people got joint pain and feverish.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I was diagnosed with RA and started MTX in August 08, and like you had night sweats. The physio seemed to think that the sweating might be my body getting rid of the inflammation. Has anyone else heard of this? xx0
