Today I'm feeling awful, woke in the night with really bad headache, in the back of my head, and over the left of my face & feeling sick, migraine, so took migraine medication, still bad in the morning my neck and bacl really achy, stayed in bed despite back being worse in bed. Now my headaches better, but my joints are painful and my back is really bad I can't get comfortable back hurts walking, sitting or lying down, good grief what a sad case My fingers don't want to do what I tell them and typing this is hard as I keep hitting the wrong keys. I know headaches at the base of the neck can be caused by neck problems, which I have, but can migraines be triggered too? Sorry to go on. Sue

Hi Sue,
Glad you're feeling better. I find headaches really bring me down too and make me feel soooooooo miserable I can keep my chin up with the arthritic pain and I grit my teeth and put a cheery smile on but any pain in my head and I can't function so I usually have to go to bed till it's gone.

hi,glad your feeling abit better.it must be catching,iv spent all day in bed with migriane.head in a bucket for 12hrs.couldnt get meds down to stop headache & sickness.i have been trying to figure out what triggers them,so it must be the o/a in neck.cant think of anything else.gone though everything food, drinks meds.nothing different, just wake up & its there.have under the gum sickness tabs, but as i was so sick so often they wouldnt stay put.the 1s i swallow wouldnt stay down,so it had to wear it self out.(& me im exhausted)dont think theres any answer to migrianes & its causes.last time we had to call dr he said he thought i had a virus.virus's last longer the 12hrs surely?
does every1 get put out of action allday because of migriane?

Hi,
I have a medication, Naramig, which if I take it when I feel the headache start, it will stop it developing. Trouble is I don't always know notice the early signs, and a full blown attack starts. If I take a pill then it does sort of work, but it takes a few hours and sometimes the headache stays in the background along with feeling sick and generally unwell. Before I had Naramig, I used to have migraines which could last up to two or even 3 days. Nothing helped, all paindkillers just at best would dim the pain slightly. A neurolgist my GP sent me to told me it was neck related and injected steriods - without telling me what he was doing or why. They did no good. That was before I had any noticable arthritis.
Anyway I'm OK now and I have a medication which works mainly, and the really long headaches are a thing of the past. Fingers crossed! But my neck is playing up at the moment and the way they come on at night has changed a bit and I'm fairly sure my neck problems do trigger them sometimes, as yesterday. Gor blimy, I'd better stop, sorry to go on. Thanks for all the sympathy - its appriacated. I hope Mash feels better too. Suexxx

hi,its deb. its when i wake up in the morning,i.e yesterday woke for toilet & bang the migraine was there, sickness all day.it wasnt til i could get meds down,or rather keep taking it till the full dose stayed there that it subsided.thats what makes me think its the o/a in the neck thats causing it. i know that i wake alnight in pain on turning.have told gp,but takes no notice.im seeing rhymy in april & im keeping a diary of problems til i see him. it will be a big list.
now im in pain as iv pulled all my stomach muscles & my hips are killing,& my ribs, feels like iv been kicked by a horse.debsx0 -
Hi Deb,
I'm glad you feel better. I'm sure the pattern I get now is due to the arthritis in my neck. It has caused a blood vessel to be compressed too, according to the MRI scan. I'm being refered for physio ultra sound, which may help the neck. Also the exercises I do for my lower spine are impossible with my neck, so I need that sorting :? Hopefully that'll all help. I hope you get sorted soon :!: . Always something..... Sue xx0 -
hi,i have the same problems with that exercise, just too painful.the other 1 i cant do is the sit on the chair & twist side to side lower back exercise.i just crack & cry in pain.the physio just says no1 likes to do that 1. great help.i do try to keep up with the excercise.i think just keeping mobile is the most important thing for me,i wouldnt dream of stopping the neck exercises cause mine seized up it took 5wks of physio to get it mobile again.
