Hi Juaquina,
I'm sorry you're feeling scared and in pain too - not a good combination
Have you tried a memory pillow, these are very good at supporting the neck and I think they're widely available, even from places like Tesco? Or maybe your pain medication isn't working, how about talking to your GP, it sounds as though you need some support at the moment.
If you need to know anything just ask here as there are lots of people who'll try to help you.

I hope you have a better nights sleep tonight.

Hi
You have my sympathy, it's awful when you can't get a good nights sleep or at least a few hours.
Have you tried using a pillow with a dip for your neck, sorry can't think of a name for them but I know Ikea do some comfy ones. Also do pillows for people that sleep on their back, stomach or side, all different heights. I find the side sleeper very comfy. Also have you tried putting an old pillow between your knees, I find this helps my back sometimes but not always. Pillow needs to be quite flat though.
Hope you get some relief soon.

Hi Juaquina, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It is a scary time and depressing. I felt the name arthritis made me feel old, I'm 53, but a lot of people are a lot younger than me. I also have oa in my neck and spine and have the same difficulties sleeping as you. Also when I lie on my back it can feel as if my spine is breaking, but not so far :!: Its so frustrating and soooo painful is'nt it. Not being able to find a comfortable position. I have a memory foam pillow and mattress topper. They help a lot especially the pillow. My husband bought mine on line, I think it cost around £40, but I'm not sure. It helps me to be more comfortable, but I admit when I first saw it and touched it it felt so strange I couldn't imagine using it Have you been refered to physio? They can help you a lot, with exercises that strenthen the muscles to allow them to do the support the back and ease pain. Have you been prescribed painkillers? They help. I had physio last year, but went back to a heavy job too quickly I'm waiting to go back for physio  . I think I've gone on a bit, sorry. I hope you find this helpful. Sue xx0
