On a bad arther day or my pamperday as i call it to keep positive. I listen to my favourite up lifting music on cd by my bed. or eat all my favourite bad foods ie chocolate etc. have a hot bath with lavender. watch funny dvds listen to audio books when my arms hurt so much i cannot lift a book. take painkillers a must. Ive got a favourite cosy blanket . soft bean bags which support my aching limbs. what do you do to keep yourself possitve, happy and feel better again?

On a bad day I like to curl up on the sofa with a snuggly blanket and watch TV or maybe read. My son makes me a hot choc to cheer me up.

On a bad day, I'll lie in bed and Muffin, my long-haired, black cat whos very gentle lies beside me with her head on my shoulder and purrs. Every now and then she'll rub her face on mine, the warm, soft, lump and gentle purring noise send me into a doze. I also have some books that I've read dozens of times, which make me laugh. Sometimes I'll go sit with my heated cusion on and go over a happy day, like my nieces wedding, my wedding or a holiday or a walk. Trying to remember everything in detail, smell of the air, heat wind noise, conversations, etc. reliving in my mind. Not forgeting my husband comming home, of course ..... Sue

So far my worst times are when I wake in the morning,
everything feels stiff and swollen (especially my sausage fingers) so I have a lovely hot shower, and do a few gentle exercises to try and mobilise myself a bit :!:

I was feeling a bit down and worrying about it all the other evening, then I put some music on :) believe me - singing my heart out to 'Born to be Wild' really lifted my spirits :D

Cuddled up with the cats on the sofa, I watch travel programmes on the tele, reassures me there is a world out there! I also have a relaxation/meditation CD which I listen to - it helps stop my mind getting in too much of a whirl when Arthur's making his presence felt .... and helps me sleep ...

I too love to lie in bed, me and my dog next to me,watching telly,or reading, unless of course my wrists arn't too painfull to hold the book.Isn't it strange that most of us like to cuddle up to our pets when we feel poorley, rather than our other half!!!

A couple of paracetamol washed down with a glass of chilled white wine and a plate of steaming hot fish and chips with plenty of salt and vinegar - that works for me :lol:

I'm gonna sound sooooo soft  ...... but a long hug with my soon-to-be-husband makes me feel better every time!!!!!!

We have four cats :!: and they always come and snuggle with me when I'm not good..... I definitely think they know when you're not well and need cheering up!

When I have a bad day I try to be positive. I try to sit somewhere comfy and think of all the good things in my life. My family, friends, church, pets, home and believe it or not the pain because I try to think that whilst it hurts it means I'm still alive!!! Now that's something to be grateful for!!!

Hi, well I cuddle up to Jasper my cat, if I am allowed too, he makes me relax when he purrs, also I enjoy a piece of choc fudge cake or toffee gateau, trouble is I can't stop, and after losing 6 stone I have to show some restraint love Jaspercatxxx

it makes me feel alot better if i have help with my little one!
the last 3 mornings i have woken up after a terrible night feeling so very stiff, with badly swollen knees and sore everywere, then trying to look after a just turned 2 year old is so hard. she obviously has no idea how i feel but seems to always manage to knock my legs or something which just makes me cry from the pain, this then makes her cry because i am and i feel so bad for making her sad!
this morning after just about managing to get her up on the bed and giving her some milk she got very excited and accidently stood on my wrist, which is already very, very sore and i just burst into tears. hubby asked if i was ok and i had to say yes as he can't easily get time off work at the moment, even though i really could do with some help, but i feel that i'd rather know he can take time off if i have a bad flare, after all this afternoon once the morphine and other meds have kicked in i know i'll feel abit better.
so i'm sat here watching her play happily and hoping she doesn't decide she wants a cuddle as i know i can't pick her up right now, poor thing, still she does manage to keep me smiling, i was whistling earlier and she watched me then had a go herself, well she thought she was whisling but in fact she was just humming in a very high pitched voice!! now she's dancing merrily to some music, it's a lovely site i can tell you!! i'm glad i've got a happy daughter to make me smile, that makes me feel better, if my eldest was at home she'd be smuthering my trying to help, she gets all mother hen like when i hurt, she's only 9 years old but gets very cross with me if i do anything to hurt myself!! oh and of course hot chocolate or a slice of sweet gooey chocolate cake!!!

You just can't beat a good cuddle when you are down! Although the hubby does have to check which bits hurt first!

I think I should get the hubby to read these pages and I might talk him into having a dog a bit sooner! :D
