Last Autumn became crippled with multiple joint pain, stiffness and signifiant disability anf feeling of systemic illness (like flu). Saw cons rheum who diagnosed degenarative arthritis. He gave ma Tramadol and Etoricoxib which takes the edge of my worst days. Last week at outpatients saw a different Cons Rheum who changed diagnosos to fibromyalgia. Told me than noone knows what causes it, to stop my pain meds and discharged me back to my GP. I feel lost. What is fibromyalgia really ? How can I stop analgesia when I hurt so badly ? Is there noone? nothing to help me ?I am only 51 and I feel like my health has been suddenly taken away and none can either tell me why or do anything to help me. Please ralk back to me.

Hello there. I have RA and now my nurse thinks I have a touch of fibromyalgia and wrote suspect fibromyalgia in my notes to my GP. I will see my RHOUMY next month for confirmation of it. I am not worried but wonder why they have not said before as I tell them all my symptoms and they have been the same always. The blood test proves I have RA. Fibo is pain in muscles and ligaments pain and stiffness occurs over all body. Sleep problems mood changes numbness. Tingling headaches it’s triggered by stress, injury lack of sleep infections and other diseases. But it is difficult to diagnose because it is similar to other diseases. Massage helps heat relaxation techniques injections of anaesthetics help antidepressants. The out look is good this book says and no long term damage is done to joints. I’m 38 and my RA has disrupted my life in a big way and this will cause joint damage and the fatigue is crippling for me and the pain but I try to keep positive as best I can. I do not want antidepressants tabs I will have to see what rheumatologist says. not sure if this a help but I thought I would share this with you as you are as confused I. will let you know how I get on hope you keep logging in. keep positive I say. That’s what I try to do.
Ps I also have two kids 4 and fifteen Ra started after sons birth he is for I do not live by family, my husband works daughter goes to school and my friends, work. I support self no help so I keep positive read all learn all so can beat this. You can too, I’m here to chat if you want am there for you. Joanne priceJoanne0 -
