Hi I am new here. I have bilateral hip dysplasia and OA in them. I am waiting for a total hip replacement, soon. I would love to hear from anyone with any advice. I am trying to adjust to my limited mobility, and have not worked for several months. This gets me down at times, but am hopeful that my pain will be less when recovered from surgery.

Hi Nearly bionic,
Welcome to the forum . I can't help you about the dysplasia or the OA as i have RA. However my sure there's others on this site who will give you great advice . Don't worry we know what it's like with arthur getting us down. That's one of the good things with this site people know how arthur can get to you and not just pain wise.
I just wanted to say hi and welcome!
Take Care

Thanks sarah
It will be good to talk to people who understand what its like. My family and friends are great but I feel like a moaner, and some days don`t even want anyone to ask how I am, cos its like living `ground hog day` never a good day!! :roll:0 -
hello
Welcome to the site!
I have oa in my hips, spine and hands. I don't need a hip replacement yet, but people who have them often find them very good after recovery from surgery. Don't worry about moaning, we all do it, well I do. Pain is hard to live with day after day, and makes you tired, so be kind to yourself and try not to worry . This is a good place to moan or rant as everyone understands and is sympathetic . Glad you found us. Suexx0 -
Thanks for your post. I have had another bad night which has resulted in me snapping at everyone this morning! I am now sat here on my own feeling bad about being such a grump, its not my hubby or my kids fault! I will be nicer tonight, I hope! I just want my life back, even a bit of the old me would be ok. I am glad i`ve found this forum tho`0

Hi NB welcome to the site sorry to hear your feeling down most of us hear have been in some dark places and i know how you feel about work. I would do anything to be back at work. Some times its hard to cope with your feelings, for me it was coming to terms with the illness and the drastic change in my lifestyle. You will get there it just takes a little time, This site is really helpfull in bringing you down to earth and the people hear are so helpfull. Some days i feel really depressed and i look on the site and see i'm better of than others. other times you find yourself really low and your on hear trying to cheer others up. One thing for sure is you will get plenty of support and advise from the site. Do take care and i hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi Nearly bionic,
Don't worry i think practically everybody on here has felt like that. It's a little frustrating because nobody knows how it feels until they go through it.
How are you feeling today? I hope you're feeling better!
If you need a chat anytime, feel free to PM (private message) me.
Take care.

I had an ok night, glad that the snow is going here, although the pavement near my sons school was very icy! Luckily I stayed on 2 feet and a stick. I am stiff and back is sore today but i plan to stay in with the heating on , so hopefully that will ease. I am so pleased to have found this site, with people who can relate to how i feel and have experience of arthur. I will be a regular n ow i think!0 -
morning i think we all dread the snow and ice i dont walk my dog if i think its icey out once you have your knees and hips done you feel as though you have to protect them at all costs i am prone to falling but its surprising how tough these replacements are annalisa x0
