Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has attended a hospital for a 'Day ward review appointment'? I'm seeing my new rhuemy (2nd visit) next Thursday. I've to go to a ward at 11.30 and stay in for a few hours. Just wondering if they do alot of things while you're in? Thanks,

Hi Magenta, I have been to one or two, usually you see the Rheumy, sometimes a nurse, the Physio and Occupational Therapist, that gives your new Rheumy a good all-round idea as to how things are going. The OT will assess you for splints, and any equipment you may need at home, sometimes they talk to you about benefits etc, hope this helps love Jaspercatxx0 -
Hi Jaspercat,
Thanks for that. How are you today? I'm off my work, have been since Monday. I'm in an awful lot of pain but I'm trying not to think about it. I'm usually all doom and gloom but my hubby is trying to lift my spirits as are my children. I'm getting a bit stressed though about work. It's rotten this arthur :x Hope you're ok

Hi Magenta, Hope your visit goes well. In my area you see everyone at an outpatients clinic it takes 2 1/2 hours, but I was lucky as dietitian was off, I know I am over weight, but do not need anyone else to tell me this at the moment. I saw OT, Physio, Podiatrist and Specialist Nurse. They have all submitted reports to Rheumy whom I am waiting an appointment to see. I found it very positive hope yours goes well to. Linda0

Hi Magenta
Yes i have done this day vist funny eneough i have been in hospital about 5 times over the last 12 months to try and stabalise the arthrits. The day visit seemed to do more in that day than all 5 hospital stays. They get anyone and everyone to come and see or assess you from your rheumy to the OH. It was from this i got all sorts of help and advice. I was told i would be just waiting round quite a bit and when all sorts of different people where turning up to see me i thought the worse but infact it is a full assesment and gives your Rheumy a better idea of what they need to do. The other thing i found was that my rheumy spent over an hour with me its not offten you get that. Anyway good luck and i hope it all goes well for you and puts you on the road for a better future. Take care

Thanks Linda and Colin,
I'm looking forward to the appointment, just hope I come away with some answers to all my pain and maybe some other kind of meds. I'm on 600mg of etodolac at the moment and it doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. Pains are worse and more widespread than before I went on them :? Thanks again everyone,
