Hi Shell
We're listening!
We care!
Sorry you are in such pain.
When the rheumy nurse rings the only suggestion i have is - don't stop yourself crying and offer to come to any cancellations - even at very short notice if you can
Take care
Love

Hi michelle sorry you in so much pain and feel so down. Have you noticed when your feeling well the appointments come thick and thin, then when your bad it seems to take forever. I know what the 24/7 pain is like it gets hard to cope but you do because there is nothing you can do. I do hope you are feeling better soon, Have you tried phoning the Rheumy nurse and talking to her. Take care

Hi Michelle
I don`t have RA , but OA. But I do have pain. My children are 12 and 10 and I too feel like a rubbish, miserable mum. Its hard to be all cheery when you have pain but I try to give them time to play, talk, or help with homework etc.. Last weekend We went swimming as a family. No one expected me to go due to pain, but I thought `well I have pain sat down, I might as well go for a swim. I did hurt but my kids enjoyed it and I felt better about that. I`m sure your son understands and will want you to rest etc..
Take care0 -
Hi Michelle,
Sorry to hear about all your pain. I have pain in my neck and shoulders and lower back also, (Although I ache and have pains all over). The pain in my neck and shoulders is horrible because at night time I can't get comfortable and spend hours moving my neck and shoulders to try and get them comfortable. It gives me terrible headaches in the back of my head. I had to wait 4 months for my first Rhumy appointment where they did blood tests, xrays and ultrasound. I had to wait another 4 months for the next appointment and treatment! I was on tramadol which just didn't releive the pain and fatigue. I phoned my specialist at Rhumy and told her I could not wait in so much pain for my next appointment. She gave my doctor the go ahead to give me a steroid injection. It was great but took 5 days to work and lasted just under 3 weeks. I begged my doctor for another injection which he gave me to tide me over. I have now been to my 2nd appointment and have been diagnosed with early inflammatory joint disease, (I have wear and tear also). I have to wait another 3 weeks to see the Rhemy nurse who will give me Hydroxychloroquine which takes 12 weeks to work. It is so fustrating as we seem to have to wait for months in pain for appointments. It's not fair! Take care Jo0 -
feeling a little better the pain is easing slightly now although saying that i am still in pain but as i call it my day to day pain that i am always in. when i had the pain inmy neck and across my shoulders i also had a terrible headache at the back of my head something i have never had before.
The rhemy nurse never did ring me today which hasnt help to lift my spirits.
