Fish Oil Dietary Supplements

Hi,
I have been looking at alot of different articles about Fish Oil and it's anti-inflammatory effects on arthritis etc.. I started taking 3000mg's per day a few weeks ago. Some recommend up to 6K. I have been feeling fairly well recently but also had a steroid injection a short time ago, so I can't attribute it to this necessarily. However, there appears to be some cardio benefits too. Anyone had any experiences with taking this over long periods of time and how much per day? I understand it is quite different than taking cod liver oil.
