Some might remember asked for advice on Brevis tendon repair on thumb. Had follow up yesterday and was informed that it was a good as it was going to get he had a brilliant bedside manner I think not! said either use both hands learn to use left hand or find another job at 55 with RA not easy, thought he could have broken the news more kindly. The repair was left much longer than it should have been the problem is that I use pipettes in my job and can't lift the thumb high enough to use the plunger. but will not give up yet. feel bad was lead to believe my thumb would be normal hope I have better luck with my double knee replacement! Thanks for reading my moans Anne

Hi Anne
Sorry to hear the news about your thumb being as good as it is going to get and for being told by a surgeon with no bedside manner - a common anomaly, I have found. Are you doing any physio exercises for the thumb? I hope you are able to prove him wrong!
I am sure your double knee replacements op will go well. Different surgeon I presume - lets hope his bedside manner is more gentle!

Oh Anne I am so sorry you got this reaction. O wonderwho these people think they are. My vet talkes to my dogs in a much better manner than the docs talk to us. Hope your hand inmproves some more . Linda0

Hi Anne,
I'm so sorry you have had the bad news give with a lump hammer aproach. Just don't let it up set you. Which is easy to say but not to do. Sometimes the future in terms of how you adapt is a little better than you think when they just tell you in such a horrible way. You take care and try not to worry.
Petmad, my vets give me better diagnosis than the doctors! they say if they treated their client as the drs have treated me they be bankrupt in a matter of months! Stay warm, Cris0 -
Yes on the subject of vets; they examin your pet, and give you a probable diagnosis on the spot. The ones I've seen have always been lovely with the cats, even after being bitten and scratched for their trouble. Why can't doctors be more like vets? Love Sue0

Poor old you Anne :!:
Kep at it as you are - maybe it will continue to improve.
Good luck with your knees
