I've just got back for seeing my gp. I'm really glad I've been after all the worries of last weeks hospital visit. She said that myasthenia gravis is not something she would think off, with my symptoms and she thinks the neuro referal is just bing thorough, but as she hasn't had a letter from them yet she dosn't know what they will say. She going to chase them up about the letter if it dosn't come by Friday, and let me know if what shes going to do.

Shes also refered me to the local leasure centre for an assesment from their medical trainer, to see if he can suggest a limited programme of exercise at the gym. I did it last year when my lumber spine was giving problems and they are really very helpful and make sure you don't overdo things :x . Some of the people their where so disabled they had to be lifted on the equipment   , but we all got on together and compared problems :!: I feel much more positive now and able to face things again. :D Anyway thats all for now. Love Sue xx

    Hi Sue :D

So pleased you had a positive visit to your gp. :D It sounds as if she is genuinely taking an interest and wishes to help as much as possible. Good stuff!!

    Hi Sue.

Glad something positive came out of your GP visit, and I hope this continues. Your leisure centre sounds wonderful, I don't think we have anything like that round here, only commercial gyms which don't always cater well for disabled people / people with medical problems - but then I've never asked, I think I'll mention it to my GP when I see him next.

    Good luck and take care.

Yes, they are very good. They are 2 men who have had medical training and have set up a business, which they contract out to local GPs. They vistit several gyms in the area. You pay £3 per session for the use of the gym and the NHS pays the rest. Its worth it! Love Sue

    Hi Sue
I`m so glad that your gp has alieved some of your concerns. It is good to talk through things with someone who can help answer the questions we have. Good luck with your exercise regime! I might ask my gp if there is anything similar here, I did go for gym sessions after having my son by c/section through an exercise on prescription scheme. You have inspired me to up my exercise regime. Thanks.
