Hello to all,
Wee question for fibromyalgia sufferers. Do your joints become swollen when they are painful? Do you get clicking/clunking of joints? Sorry, that's 2 wee questions
Thanks,
Magenta x

    Hiya

My understanding is that fibromyalgia is not a disease of the joints.

It is a muscle and connective tissue disorder, which affects, for example, muscles, tendons, ligaments etc. It does not involve the joints.

Your joints may become swollen (as there is connective tissue around a joint), but it wouldn't create clunking/clicking etc.

    Thanks Melbland and Scottishlass,
I was just wondering if I could have fibromyalgia and not arthritis but I do get swelling and clicking of joints-that's why I asked the question. I'm just trying to find answers. My ESR has only ever been raised once and this time it was normal.

Knowing me, I probably have both but the drs may not agree
