    Hi Joanne,
    How's your father-in-law? Hope everything's ok

I recently got blood taken to test for Anti-CCP which stands for
Anti Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide. Apparently it's more expensive than RF blood test (also takes longer for result-6 to 8wks!) but it's supposed to be better at helping to diagnose RA. It's also good for testing people-like myself-that are RF negative. The fact you are positive means (I think?) that you definitely have RA.

Father in law out of hospital and is a lot more his old self than when he went in.

Thank you for explaining CCP positive

I have not been to well myself. Collage sorting out chair to help posture and neck support. Doctors have increaed pain relief. The snow and cold weather is not doing my joints any good at all.

More snow to come! :D:lol:

    Hope you are feeling better.

I believe that if you're RF is high, and you are CCP antibody positive, and you have arthralgia but no arthritis (ie joint pain without inflammation) THEN you have a high chance of developing RA in the future.

Anti CCP is a more sensitive test than Rhematoid factor, for RA. Anti CCP is positive in 98% of people who have RA, whereas Rheumatoid factor is only positive in 70% of people who have RA.
