Hi welcome to the site I have RA also take one day at a time. remember if you cannot do something one way there is another and gadgets which help.
Asking for help is hard and i find i have to explain myself as it is not obvious to other people which is very fustrating.
I have found different things to do to help take my mind off the pain.
like music which lifts my spirits comedy vidios audio books for days when my arms and hand hurt so much i cannot lift a book. I cannot always do the house work like i used to i do some for twenty minuits then rest or do something less energetic. some thing other people in my house i will get them to do. I have small bean bags for my arms to rest on. the list is endless. find out as much as possible about the disease this has helped me feel more in control and enabled. I joined a support group and no longer feel alone as there ar other people out there who are suffering and i look out for new ideas all the time this site is a good support ad everyone is friendly you will find help on here anyway once again welcome to the site from joanne price

    Hello Audrey,
Glad you found the site. Everyone is very helpful and full of ideas!

I have O.A of the neck and spine, hands, hips, and carpel tunnel, just to complete the list, but its always popping up somewhere new :!:
Nothing useful to add to what the others say, just post if you want to talk or find something worrying or hard to do. You'll get lots of ideas. Love Sue

    Welcome Audrey :)
It seems I have RA too, it all comes as a shock doesn't it?
I havent started any meds yet, hoping that when I do things will start to improve.

Initially I was feeling very worried and scared when I found out what was wrong with me - but finding this site has really helped me come to terms with things.
Everyone understands just what your going through physically and emotionally, its like a little club (although none of us wanted to be members :!:

It is a sudden shock to need help when you have always helped others. But, having RA means that others now help you. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it, you are ill and others, especially family/friends, will in time realise that you are not as fit and active as you were. Only do what you are able to do and otherwise you g050.gif

There are many ideas and thoughts in previous posts which it is worth while having a look through. However, if you feel like a long rant anytime c020.gif then put it in words on this forum. We are here to listen and help if possible.
