I would like to go to Northern Ireland for my birthday. Has anyone got recommendations what sort of touristy activities might be good to try. I have heard lots of people saying its lovely but they don't have arthritis and don't understand my limitations. Want something with easy access to transport, preferably train. Quite fancy Giants Causeway but is it easy to get there. 20 miles off te beaten track isn't suitable.
Thanks

Hi Jenny, I spent quite a bit of time in NI also been to the south but and i say but i think NI is one of the most beautiful places in the world and i have traveled a lot. Get yourself on the net and talk to the Tourist information centres tell them about your disability and ask them about accessible places. Or find out where you want to go and then contact them you will find them a great help. you will find rail stations close to the dock and airport but check it all out on the net.

    Hi Tjenny,
My Dad was born in Northern Ireland and he took us all there for a holiday but it was about 30yrs ago  and I didn't have arthritis then. We visited the Giants Causeway and it was fantastic :D

    hi,

I live in Carrickfergus , C/o Antrim northern Ireland. now the Giants causeyway is hard to get to for me as I dont have a car, there is a good rail network here but with my o/a I cant use public transport and a taxi fare would be very dear.

there are many musems , the best place to enguire is the touirst information centre . oh by the way carricfergus has a lovely castle and so has Belfast .

Northern Ireland is a lovely place , there are other people from Northern Ireland on this board .

I dont travel much now but I love war musems and belfast Zoo you get in here for free with your disability and they provied a scooter Free recommend this.
