I'm fed up with waiting to see the neurologist. As I hadn't heard anything I rang my GP today and she had the hospital paperwork through last week and filled it in to refer me to the neurologist about the muscle pain and weakness, but her secretary had not sent it on to me . Glad I phoned though, as shes going to chase it up, she tried to do a choose and book appointment for me over the phone, but as the computer thinks I've been sent the paperwork, she couldn't do it. I hope it soon gets sorted as it does worry me a bit and the internet tells me I've got all sorts of things!! My left arm is painful and my hands kept me awake last night :? Even tryed my splints in bed. VERY SEXY. Love Sue

If you have the name of the Consultant you are being referred to, call the switchboard number and ask to be put through to their secretary. They will be able to tell you if they have the referral letter and when your appointment is likely to be. Alternatively call your hospital and ask for appointments. Ask how long typically the wait is for a neurosurgery appointment and they will tell you. That's the advice I got from my own Dr and after calling them I got my letter about a week later with the appointment scheduled for exactly a month after. Good luck Sue
