Arthritis Care in Scotland has a new project, Joint Potential for young adults aged 17-25 with arthritis.

We are looking for lively, enthusiastic volunteers based in Scotland aged 17-25 who would like to train to become Contact volunteers and help us deliver Joint Potential events.

We'll give you training in how to lead group discussions, deliver presentations and give one-to-one support: you'll be talking about your experiences living with arthritis to other people with the same condition, so it's a lot easier than you'd think. The cost of training, travel expenses and accommodation will all be paid for by Arthritis Care in Scotland.

After training, you'll be able to lead Joint Potential events, with the support of other contact volunteers and Arthritis Care in Scotland staff. As well as professional skills, you'll also gain confidence and a better understanding about how to live positively with arthritis - and enjoy being part of a truly great team :D.

There's only one hitch - you'll have to let me know by Wednesday 13 May if you're interested! Our last 2 training weekends are 15-17 May and 5-7 June and you'd need to attend both.

If you are interested in this or want to know more, please contact Sophie Rogers on 0141 954 7776 or email Scotland@arthritiscare.org.uk

In case anyone is thinking about this, there are still a couple of places left - but the first training weekend is at the end of March, so hurry! Email me for more info.
