I have lumps that appear in my head. i wake up and they are there.
they are quite big and dotted over one side of my head. I did go to the practioner nurse today as i thought i may be gettibg a chest infection as i am coughing upsome coloured gunge a bit.

but she just told me to go to the docs with the lumps. trouble is i cant get an appointment unless i get up before 8 15 am and that is very hard for me as the stiffness and pain i wake up with is that bad i would have to get up a lot ealier than thatand it is proving impossible. i just wondered if anyone else had sufferd anything like them..

I am on Enbrel idomethacin and tramadol for pain

    Hi Weetabix,

Can't say I have any head lumps but then I can't get my hands up to my scalp so I possibly wouldn't know if I had any

Just thinking about the docs, if you were told to phone before 8:15 a.m. isn't that just for emergency/same day appointments? I would think if you phoned during the day and explained you should be able to get an appointment within the next couple of days. Your surgery must have a more flexible system because not everyone's around at that time of day.

nope they are for same day app, i did ask fir an appointment to see one of the docs and they said they didnt have any for over two weeks. thats why i had to see the Nurse practioner today too.
my husband is going to try to stay up till 8.15 tomorrow , he works nights and he gets in a 2 am i told him that its immpossible for him to do that so we have set the alrm for him to ring then if they need to speak to me he cdan help with the phone.

but to tel the truthi really don,t feel well at all and they are giving me a bit of a headache. these are the worse ones i have had the others have not bothered me at all. and i have around 5 of them, if i don't feel any better by later on i am going to get my daughter to ring the walk in centre.. but i don;t think they are for this sort of thing..

I would complain to your practice manager, the system is obviously discriminating. I have worked in a GP surgery for over 10 years and I think the system is designed purely so they can hit government targets on waiting times.

Sorry my ranting doesn't really help when you are feeling so poorly, I hope you get some help soon.

I agree with Rosiecat you should make a complaint to your Surgery's practise manager.

They're supposed to be supplying a service to you, you're ill and need to be seen. How about going down to the surgery and sitting and waiting (very pleasantly) till someone can see you...I know, you don't feel like making a stand when you feel so bad but your husband shouldn't need to stay awake just to get you an appointment at the doctors :x

This type of thing makes me sooooooooo cross :x :x

I agree with the others. You should see A&E if your GP cann't see you. Do you have any walk in centres near you? If not A&E, don't leave it! Love Sue

    Hi,
Glad you've got an appointment, I can't understand all these systems and whatnot   Any way, take care and hope you feel better soon. Sounds as if your family are taking good care of you :) Best wishes, Sue
