Hi
When I thought things couldn`t get any worse.......bang! they do!
I was burgled last night whilst we were in bed. I heard something and my hubby went to investigate and found the patio doors had been forced open. Great! And they took my lifeline, my laptop!!
Luckily my hubby must have disturbed them and nothing else went, but 5 days before I go in hospital I could do without this!!
Oh and I have a flat tyre too!!!! :x
What else is going to happen?

Bad luck - it's a horrible experience and very bad timing.
All the best at the hospital.

Oooooooooh NB there are some sh**ty people out there aren't there. :?:
Putting my Pollyanna hat on you just have to thank goodness no one was hurt because this day and age, sadly, that's a real possibility.
Hopefully you were insured and you'll be able to get a new laptop - although it's all the work that you've lost and all the tedious downloading ......... sorry you don't need me stating the obvious
Hope things take a turn for the better

Thanks Wendy and Linda
Yes we are insured and i`ve contacted them. But as you say its stuff like photos, personal info etc. and for what ? drugs probably!!!
Well at least my hubby didn`t get thumped when he went to investigate, armed with...well.. his undies!!!
It really p****s me off that people can do this sort of things. My first instinct was to check that my kids were ok, and they were still asleep thank goodness! But all that noctural stairclimbing etcc.. has played havoc with my hip etc.. today.
Anyway stay safe everyone!!

Hi NB
What rotten luck, let's hope they get caught and you get your laptop back. Like you say it's the things you had on it that can't be or will be hard to replace that hurts most.
Are you still managing to stay calm, hope so. Good luck with your op.
Love

Hi NB,
Oh how rotten for you. The last thing you want to cope with right now. I hope they catch the little scrotes. :x
But I guess it's a reminder to all of us to make back-up copies our info and pics and stuff and put it somewhere safe.
Thank goodness you are all alright, and your kids didn't even wake.
Hope all goes well for the op. Perhaps to take your mind off the nervousness you could spend some time devising evil punishments for the scumbags?

Oh I'm so sorry, we were burgled a few years back and it's awful. Not just stuff being stolen but the fact strangers were in your house raking through your stuff is so distressing. Hopefully you will get something sorted soon. Just try and stay positive for your op.

Thank you to all of you!!
Its good to know i can sound off here. (although the air has been very blue here today!!! :x )
My hubby has been round securing everything and changed the tyre. All that after a day at work.
I feel a bit nervous of going out tomorrow, although thats silly cos they broke in whilst we were in anyway!
Hope my luck changes tomorrow. Who knows I might win the lottery. (some hope!)

NB,
So sorry to hear of your horrible experience, you really don't need that when you preparing for hospital. As others have said, you are all safe though. I do hope all goes well for you at the hospital, will be thinking of you.
Sending you all good wishes,

Hello,
I'm so sorry. Glad you're all ok.

what a rotten thing to happen :x :x - although I dare say it took your mind off the op for a bit
Hope you soon get things sorted, and the laptop replaced. Try not to let yourself dwell on what might have been ....... you are all safe and that is what is important.
My compliments to your husband on chasing them away!
One tip I was given a few years ago by a reformed burglar I did some work with ............ if you hear someone downstairs in the house, it is best to make as much noise as possible & shout t someone to phone the police even if you are on your own (confuses them as to how many people are in the house) & make sure they know the police are on the way. He suggested that it was always best to stay put though. Not sure I could if it was me though :?0 -
hi,so so sorry to hear that.weve had that twice,1st time we were broken into when we run a pub.4am in the morning was asleep upstairs & iv never been so scared in my life.then the same people new our house was not lived in so shed got broken into, must have been disturbed(luckily) as they'd left a spade next to back door( to do house next)
we moved back to house 4wks later & werent insured for the shed or house.its took 18 months to piece together all thats missing cause u dont really thing about whats in the shed untill u come to need it. electric plane, jigsaw, bolt croppers things u dont notice there gone til u need them.
hope ur op goes ok,good luck. debsx0 -
It could be worthwhile to ask your local Police for a visit by the Crime Prevention Officer who can advise on security. If you pop into the local Police Station and ask for a visit, then they will send someone to give you free advice on security.
Also, if you register free on http://www.immobilise.com If something is then lost or stolen, use Immobilise.com to tell law enforcement, your insurer, and the second-hand trade to assist in recovering your property and catch the thief. You never know!

I am not sure my hubby would want to loan his pants out!! I didn`t sleep well last night, kept jumping at any slight creak! God I`m going to be a paranoid wreck before long!
I have taken my kids swimming today then done some baking with them. I had a call from victim support, which was thoughful but I always feel like crying when people are so nice to me!
I can honestly say the burglary has taken my mind off the op (slightly!!)
Well this time next week....i`ll have a new hip! And could be walking a bit.
I could do with a a less eventful few days now!
NB0 -
Hi there, just what you need when your about to have an op!
Well on the positive side, bet its keeping your train of thought on something else; as if you dont have enough to worry about! Hope your hubby knows his pants are well famous now, and the little s**t gets his comeuppance jk0
