Hi, I have at last read all of a letter instead of just ceasing on the bit that up-set me and I could do with a Nurse with a (it used to be called this as I used to have one) Mims book and a bit of understanding of what these drugs are also used for. I have looked them up and before I make my stand with asking how anyone in such a short consultation can make such a sweeping diagnosis.... well you know how angry we can get at that one!
The Net only tells you so much and I am already on pain drugs that are for something else but work very well, indeed they may be from the same family as that's where real knowledge comes in rather than limited Net articles and stuff.
I hope every ones having a good day, we have a bit of sun and don't it make a difference?
Take care
Oh and to the Nurses grovel....... grovel.......grovel and please and could I do the drugs them self on the pm way?

Hi skezier
I dont have one or do i ill ask the wife. The book is called the BNFL today i think. However you got a better result than me. I went to the doctors for some better pain relief as all my drugs have been withdrawn because i have an ibfection that wont go away. The doctor was very sweet and about 7 or 8 months pregnant a really nice girl perhaps about 16 or 17 lol. She was really good at listening and told me she could give me nothing without consulting with my Rheumy. That said she left a prescription for me the next day for the same thing as i. taking.

Hi Badger,
Mine don't rush, they do as much of what we call 'drekly' as I do but this particular consultant does seem to have made a very sweeping statement which without other uses I should say something about.
I saw ur post, down here they run a patients carers support group through the pals office, it must be hard to live with someone being taken over by pain and immobility, but there are so many people effected that way that help is out there. I hope you find something as it must be hard.
The snow should have gone now, there is a chance of it getting colder but spring is on it's way and at least cold it's dry........ I lives in a swamp so as long as it doesn't actually rain I's kinda happy.
Oh Hi as well, this site is very helpful and maybe a question to the helpline team, who are wonderful, will help you know where to look?
We should have a good summer, some of us rant at the skies and remind the universe WE ARE OWED ONE!!! I feel so much better brown and warm! There's far too many 'could you remove your top' incidents and they are better if I'm brown, and they going to weight me...... oh no...... crash diet here I comes! If I stop eating could I be 2 stone lighter before the day theater........ please....
Sorry Badger, I really do hope there will be some support for you as well as your partner out there. Take care0 -
Hi
I am a nurse, but my BNF is at work, with my prescription pad! Work, a place where I have not been for a while. The NHS direct drug guide is quite good, not sure if this would be ok for you.

Hi Colin,
They don't half like messing us about eh? I don't understand how they work, I really don't.
If your wife has one of those books please could you let me know as this one I am going to run with unless they have 'un liceienced' uses. Mind I might not take her on while she got the needle in my neck! May be when she's finished would be best........ There wont be time..... maybe a letter after she's done it....... maybe is about all I can do just now!
I don't have nice doctors, indeed we have a mutual loathing, but my rumo is a good guy and lets me decide am I willing to have the side effects and if it works and I am he makes them stop messing with the tablets. I guess I'm lucky eh?
I hope they can find something that will sort out the infection, Take care Cris
Nearly, I looked at there uses and I really did get worried on one and angry on the other, mind I looked after the full dose of preglabalin and maybe I should look again as I get side effects and normally stay well clear of the full dose. I need a Nurses knowledge as you all know when else its used as well as the book listings and if I'm going to 'have a quiet word' I need to know it's not what she is implying. Hows your panic levels doing? Probably well till someone asks you eh?0 -
Hi Skezier
My panic levels keep coming and going! :? Its like-one minute I`m fine, then the next "right i`m going to run away!(well hobble!)"
My bags are packed, 2 new books to read, all I need now is a trolley to take me to theatre!! Apparently I`m 2nd on the list, unless it changes before Monday. Thanks for asking
I hope you get an honest answer about your meds, sometimes they need to look at the whole picture, condition, current meds, and previous side effects. A good pratitioner will also listento the patient, you know yourself best after all!!!

I hope you are right but it only seems to be people with arthritis that are on the site. I could do with losing weight as well.
All the best

Nearly,
your bound to have the panic up and down. I haven't had a hip done but I was on the list 6 months for my back and was lucky as I had no choice bar to stay in the state I was in.
You just stay calm, its going to be fine and the nearer it gets the easier it gets to staying calm.
My gp's are really not good. I know they have too many patients, are the only ones for miles and really need more doctors but it means they are short, rude and dam right offensive. I can't talk to them, they neither care nor listen. If they can get my tablets off me they do- its cost them round £5 a day for my pills...... I don't think that's a good enough reason to tell me! I'm not their accountant! Sorry Nearly, shall I stop ranting now? You'll be fine and I really wish you so much luck. Oh and Petmad too, she's in soon as well.
Any way you take care and don't let it worry you. Oh and don't let them bump you down the list, the earlier the better. Cris0 -

thanks for saying you'd look if I pm you the names maybe you could see what they are used for outside the fact they were made? There are a lot of overspill uses for so many of these drugs. I don't know if it says about drips but they are adding another drug into mine and I should like to know how much is the normal dose etc. Take care, Cris0 -

You should try looking it up on Google, I often do this when I do not know what my medication is for and also if there are any side effects I should be aware of. Linda0

Hi Scottishishlass,
Hey I hope you have been doing something nice? It really is different now eh? We used to grovel to the A&E nurses for the Mims...... There was quite a good black market trade for Mims and matty pack scissors back then! Mind I often was dragged off by an A&E doctor or consultant for the injections in my knees and that was defiantly unofficial and couldn't happen now! They used to get more time back then on the nights as the clubs were only open wednesdays, fridays and saturdays and binge drinking wasn't such a problem as now, so they were probably getting bored!
I did look it up on the net, I didn't find how long the second drip takes and the other bit just gave me more questions on what the doctor is actually inferring...... Going to have to ask her!
Hey you don't happen to know if the jabs into the neck are individual or does one do all? They going for 5 and the letter came with no real info except be there by 10 and fill in the form, again!
I hope its a bit warmer up there, nice to 'see' you again, Take care.0
